This Patch Tuesday Fixes Dangerous Security Flaws

Patch Tuesday is typically the second Tuesday of each month, and is the day Microsoft releases security patches for Windows Update. This month's Patch Tuesday has some of the most significant updates compared to the past several months, fixing many dangerous flaws with imminent exploits. These are critical updates that, if not installed, will leave computers vulnerable to attack.

Microsoft says of the 16 security bulletins they released in June, nine of them are classified as 'critical,' which they define as a vulnerability whose exploitation could allow the propagation of an Internet worm without user action. Microsoft also gave seven of the nine bulletins an exploitability index of one. This means the exploit is very likely to happen within 30 days.

Wait, let's try that again in plain English. Microsoft found some security flaws in their software, some of them very dangerous if left unfixed, and in the next 30 days it is likely some of them will be taken advantage of maliciously. Fortunately, Microsoft has released the patches. All you need to do is run your Windows Updates. Servers and some other Windows devices are also at risk

If Directive is managing your windows updates, you are covered; we're testing out the update and getting it whitelisted to get it installed on your systems as soon as possible. For everyone else, we suggest running Windows Updates as soon as possible, or contacting us if you need assistance.  These are very important, so if you aren't sure, don't hestitate to contact us.
